Scholarship
Overview:
International Students are
advised to apply for the Leiden University Minerva Scholarships in the
Netherlands for the 2026-27 sessions. Foreign aspirants can apply for Fully
Funded Scholarships to pursue Undergraduate Degree Programs and Master’s Degree
Programs. Participants will not have to pay any application fee. At Leiden
University, you may apply to undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a wide
range of subjects.
Each year, the Netherlands
government provides a large number of scholarships and internships for applicants
from abroad. One of these scholarships is the Minerva Scholarship, funded by
the Foundation for Leiden University. To provide financial aid for various
study and research projects, the Minerva Scholarship Fund Foundation was
established. The MSF, in particular, seeks to encourage outstanding and
distinctive student projects both domestically and internationally.
The Leiden Minerva Student
Association started the Minerva Scholarship Fund. The Minerva Scholarship Fund
Foundation is a registered charity (ANBI) under Dutch income tax laws.
Contributions to the foundation are tax-deductible. Donations must meet certain
criteria in order to be designated as ANBI.
Dutch public research university
Leiden University is located in Leiden. It was established in 1575 as a gift to
the city of Leiden for its resistance to Spanish invasions during the Eighty
Years’ War, and today it is the oldest and most famous institution of higher
learning in the Netherlands. One of the best universities in the Netherlands is
Leiden University, which gives international students the chance to enrol in a
variety of programmes with scholarships.

Award Benefits:
Leiden University Minerva
Scholarships in the Netherlands for 2026-27 will assist students by paying for
all of their educational expenses. All international students who receive this
scholarship are eligible for the following benefits:
This fund will provide you with a
sum ranging from 900 to 2000 euros to meet the demands of your project.
You can use this money to pay the
costs of your project’s research as well as your living expenses throughout
your stay.
It is also possible to spend the
funds on foreign trips.
A budget of €900 to €2000 will be
allocated to your project. This money can be used for research, living
expenses, and international travel, among other things.
Eligibility Requirements:
The fundamental qualifying
conditions for Leiden University Minerva Scholarships 2026-27 in the
Netherlands are as follows.
To
apply to this program,
you do not need to be a member of L.S.V. Minera.
It would help if you had a high
level of research or study in the Netherlands or abroad.
In this program, your project
should be a research, study, or internship.
After this assignment, you must
submit a final report with appropriate photos and details.
You must be a PhD student at this
university who has already completed the master’s degree program there.

to be Submitted:
All of the documents mentioned
below must be submitted during the online application process for Leiden University
Minerva Scholarships in the Netherlands 2026-27. Details can be found below in
other lines:
Bachelor’s degrees require a
Higher Secondary School Certificate or the equivalent of 12 years of schooling.
For master’s
degrees, you require proof of your bachelor’s degree.
International
Students’ Passport
A concise
resume/CV is required.
Statement of
Purpose or Motivational Letter.
The
allocation committee, comprised of Leiden academics from several fields, will
assess each application based on predetermined standards. The relevance of the
study and how it will contribute to the progress of academic knowledge are
considered during the review process.
Following
the application deadline, you will find out (at most) one month later if you
have been given a scholarship.
Two letters
of recommendation
Certificate
of English Language proficiency from the prior institute.
If the
candidate’s former degree was not in the English language, they will have to
take the IELTS exam.

attach all needed papers, and mail it to the address specified.
Apply
Procedure For Leiden University Minerva Scholarship:
The Leiden
University Minerva Scholarships fund foundation does not have an online
application method. Visit the official website and download the application to
submit your application. The application form must include all required
documentation.
Once you’ve
met all the requirements, send the documents to the designated address by
courier.
