Are you passionate about community development and good governance? Kamonyi District is seeking a dedicated Health and Sanitation Officer to help strengthen local administration and improve the well-being of residents.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with local leaders, support public health initiatives, and empower citizens to actively participate in their governance.


Key Responsibilities

As Health and Sanitation Officer, you will:

Implement programs and strategies promoting good governance at the sector level and compile data and reports from Cells.
Monitor and enhance governance initiatives, organizing impactful programs to improve transparency, accountability, and community participation.
Lead awareness campaigns to educate the public on governance and specific development programs.
Handle complaints and grievances, ensuring that citizens’ voices are heard, documented, and addressed promptly.
Support and monitor Abunzi activities (community mediators), strengthening their capacity through training.
Coordinate umuganda activities, consolidating reports on community work and civic engagement.
Analyze reports from Cell Councils, identifying issues that require attention at the Sector Council level.


🎓 Qualifications

Education: (No prior work experience required)

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields:

  • Public Administration

  • Administrative Sciences

  • Development Studies

  • Philosophy

  • Political Sciences

  • Education Sciences

  • Governance

  • Community Development

  • Rural Development

Experience:
No previous experience is required, making this a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates eager to build their career in governance and community development.

Languages: Fluent in Kinyarwanda; proficiency in English and/or French is an advantage.
